Cindy Briggs Tobin, Director of Development and Alumni Relations

Cindy Briggs Tobin joined Tufts University in 2000 as the Friedman School’s Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations. She has since been promoted to the school’s Director of Development and Alumni Relations. In this role, she develops and leads the team’s outreach and fundraising activities. She also works with volunteer leaders, such as the Board of Overseers and the Development Committee, as well as major gift and capital gift donors. She looks forward to connecting with alumni and friends, to hear about their interests in nutrition and health.
Cindy has over 15 years experience in managing fundraising programs, volunteers, and special events. She graduated from Syracuse University with a double major in English and Psychology, and received a master’s degree in public relations, with a concentration in nonprofits and government, from Boston University’s College of Communication.
Cindy lives outside Boston with her husband, Jonathan, and two cats, Mo and Maeve. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, checking out the Boston area’s restaurant scene, and following professional football. (Go Pats!)
Sean Devendorf, Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations

Sean Devendorf joined the Friedman School as the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations in August 2007. Prior to Tufts, he worked in the advancement office at Rumsey Hall School in Washington, CT.
In his current role, he manages the School's annual giving program and visits with alumni and friends on behalf of the School. In addition, he works with the Alumni Association Executive Council to increase alumni involvement throughout the world.
In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, rugby, volleyball, cooking and following Boston sports teams. A graduate of Vassar College, he now resides north of Boston with his wife, Rebecca.
Lindsay Schoonmaker, Stewardship & Event Coordinator

Lindsay is the Stewardship & Event Coordinator for the Friedman School's Office of Development & Alumni Relations. Her primary responsibilities include building and managing all alumni and donor event programming across the country. She also ensures that all donors to the Friedman School are thanked and recognized in a timely manner and that the School is communicating the use and impact of their gift. Lindsay joined Tufts in October 2005.
Prior to Tufts, Lindsay spent a few years in marketing and sales for organizations in both Rockville, MD and the Boston area.
Lindsay graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. She is currently working towards her Master's degree at Tufts! Once completed, she will have a Master of Science in Nutrition and a Master of Public Health.
Lindsay lives outside of Boston with her husband Ryan, EG06 and their pug Heidi. She enjoys traveling/sight seeing, reading, working out, baking and spending time outdoors.

Joanne McDonough joined the Friedman School's development office as its staff assistant in November 2006. Prior to coming to Tufts, she owned and operated her own business and for much of her career was an administrative assistant. In her spare time, Joanne enjoys reading, playing golf, and skiing with her husband, Michael, and daughter, Meghan.
