In order to educate the next generation of nutrition leaders, the Friedman School must attract the best and brightest students. As applications for admission to its graduate programs continue to rise, so does demand for financial assistance from qualified applicants.
Increasingly, the school's ability to attract world-class candidates is hampered by financial aid packages that are not competitive with peer institutions. In the past, the lack of financial aid affected mainly doctoral students in the biological sciences. Today, this is no longer the case; top-tier policy students now are also being courted by other schools.
Enhanced support for financial aid is the top priority of the Friedman School's comprehensive campaign. Endowed scholarships and financial aid funds enable outstanding students who otherwise would have difficulty financing their graduate study to benefit from a state-of-the-art education at Tufts.
